DIMAPUR — The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Livingstone Foundation International College (LFIC), Dimapur, held an orientation programme for the first semester students on Thursday at the college premises.
The programme was coordinated by the college’s NSS core unit.
According to a press release, during the programme, Maongkaba Aier, assistant professor, department of Education (NSS faculty representative), gave the introductory note, and Jemsungba Walling, assistant professor, department of English (NSS PO), presented the keynote address.
Walling spoke about the functionality, goals, and statutory bodies that comprise the NSS ecosystem, while Kedithil Tetso of the department of English (NSS media and communication) and Akhumse Sangtam of the department of Political Science (LFIC NSS president) demonstrated the NSS song and special clap.
LFIC principal Dr. Behera talked during the programme about the opportunities and prospects of being an NSS volunteer as well as the future missions for the NSS unit of the college.
The students were also given booklets and NSS badges as part of the event.
