Dimapur, Feb. 1 (EMN): Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan is back with a bang after a four-year hiatus with his latest release ‘Pathaan’ becoming his highest grossing movie till date by breaching the INR 600 crore-mark in the first week itself, beating his other films ‘Chennai Express’, ‘Happy New Year’, ‘Dilwale’, ‘Raees’, ‘My Name Is Khan’, ‘Don 2’ and others at the box office.
Starring Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in the lead roles, the controversy-riddled ‘Pathaan’ reportedly collected a whopping INR 106 crore at the box office on the opening day, January 25, 2023.
‘Pathaan’ (Hindi) continued to attract the crowds to the theatres after a wonderful start, collecting INR 315 crore nett from India and approximately INR 239 crore from the overseas in the first week itself, thus taking the worldwide box office collection (seven days) to INR 617 crore, only next to ‘Dangal’ and ‘Bahubali – The Conclusion’ which earned INR 700 crore and INR 800 crore nett respectively in Hindi language, as per a report by Box Office India.
Going by the current box office trend, it appears like the 57-year-old actor’s latest movie is on course of breaking more records.
