WOKHA — A three-day literary fest conducted by Government High School (GHS) in Wokha village concluded on August 25. The programme was organised to lighten the minds of the students and boost their competitiveness through their participation.

The three-day programme included activities such as folk songs, spell bee, painting/ sketching, essay writing, handicraft-making, debate, quiz, storytelling, poem recitation, extempore speech and contemporary song singing. The competitions were held house-wise (Green, Red, Yellow and Blue) in both junior and senior categories.

On August 23, competitions on folk song (group and solo) and contemporary song (solo and duet) were conducted in the first session. Competitions in group folk dance (house-wise), painting for the junior category and sketching and essay writing for senior category were conducted in the second session.

On August 24, quiz competition for senior category, storytelling for junior category and extempore speech were conducted in the first session, while competitions in debate for senior category, poem recitation for both junior and senior categories were conducted in the second session.

On August 25, competitions on spell bee for both junior and senior categories, handicraft-making (basket weaving) for boys and cutting and tailoring for girls were conducted.

Enibemo Yanthan, headmaster of GHS Wokha village, informed that he was satisfied with the students’ participation and believed that conducting such activities would help them in future.
