Kohima, Aug. 14 (EMN): The 74th Independence Day celebration, which is being held at Secretariat Plaza in Kohima, will be live streamed for the public on Nagaland government social media handles from 9 am.
This year, the ceremony will be held by observing all necessary precautionary measures in light of the Covid-19 pandemic.
A government official said that minimal gathering is being encouraged during the function. Pre-recorded speech of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio as well as cultural programme will be live streamed.
‘Efforts are being made to live stream the function smoothly,’ the official added.
Only three contingents—4th NAP Bn., 10 NAP (IR) Bn., and Nagaland Police Central Brass Band will participate at the venue.
The chief minister will unfurl the national flag and take the Rashtriya Salute at 9 am after the DGP of Nagaland reviews the parade. A recently introduced e-commerce platform, YellowChain, will be launched by the chief minister during the function.
Live streaming of the function will be available at MyGovNagaland, Facebook and YouTube.
