LJP (Ram Vilas), NPP nominate members for Political Consultative Committee on Indo-Naga political issue
KOHIMA — The legislature parties of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) and the Nationalist People’s Party (NPP) have nominated members for the Political Consultative Committee (PCC) on the Indo-Naga political issue.
The nominations were made following a circular issued by the Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, KG Kenye on May 10, directing each Legislature Party to form PCCs in consultation with their respective party organisations.
The PCCs, comprised of the council of ministers and legislative leaders from all political parties in the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly, will be part of a larger ‘Political Affairs Committee’ (PAC), which will act as a facilitator in finding an inclusive solution to the long drawn Indo-Naga political issue.
Accordingly, the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) has nominated MLA Dr. Sukhato Sema as convenor for the party, with MLA Naiba Konyak as member secretary and ex-MLA Yitachu as member.
Similarly, the Nationalist People’s Party (NPP) has nominated MLA Nuklutoshi as convenor, with MLA Benei M Lamthiu as member secretary, and MLAs A Nyamnyei Konyak, C Kipili Sangtam and Dr. Tsielhoutuo Rhutsu as members.
Meanwhile, other political parties are yet to submit details, according to sources.
