Longtsukumba Ao wins silver at GAMMA world championships

Dimapur, March 27 (EMN):
Longtsukumba Ao won silver in the finals of the Global Association of Mixed Martial Arts (GAMMA) World championships, which commenced on March 23 in Sporthallen Zuid, Amsterdam, Netherlands. He fought against Mohammad Wasfi Ismael Eid (30) from Jordon in 65.8 kg elite MMA category.

Other Naga fighters included Arsenba Ozukum who competed in 56.8 kg striking MMA category and won bronze. Avizo Lanamai in the 70 kg elite MMA category, Limasunep Imchen in 61.2 kg elite MMA category.

The fighters were trained at The Combat Academy Nagaland and were accompanied by coach Khriemelie Metha.

All together, 33 fighters represented India at the GAMMA World Championships 2021.

The German capital Berlin was supposed to host the GAMMA world championships in December 2021, but due to the Covid-19 rules, the event was postponed and ultimately moved to the Netherlands.
