IMPHAL — Another earthquake struck Manipur on Wednesday evening, marking a nearly ten-day gap since the last reported tremor, according to the National Centre for Seismology (NCS), Ministry of Earth Sciences. Fortunately, no damage or casualties were reported.
The earthquake occurred at approximately 7:09 pm with a magnitude of 4.5 on the Richter scale. It was centred in Bishnupur.
In a post on X, the NCS reported that the earthquake had occurred at 19:09:32 IST. The quake’s epicentre was located at coordinates Lat: 24.49, Long: 93.81, with a depth of 25 km.
A mild earthquake was also reported in Manipur on the morning of June 16. There were no reports of damage. The earthquake struck around 1:21 pm and measured 3.5 on the Richter scale. The epicentre was reported to be in Kangpokpi, Manipur.
