Massive fire breaks out in Presbyterian church at West Karbi Anglong

Diphu, March 12 (EMN): In an unfortunate incident, a massive fire broke out at Presbyterian Church Arting, in West Karbi Anglong district under Hamren Police station on March 10.

A local church leader informed Eastern Mirror over telephone that the incident broke out on Thursday night at around12:30, while the cause of the fire remained unknown.

More than INR 4 lakh church properties including sound system, utensils and others were destroyed. Moreover, the local church leaders requested Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council, chief executive member, Tuliram Ronghang and local MLA Rupsing Teron to lend their support and help during this difficult time.

No casualties were reported. The church is going to celebrate its 100 years in 2023.
