Dimapur, Jan. 17 (EMN): The additional deputy commissioner (ADC) of Tuensang, Thungchanbemo Tungoe, has constituted a medical board for Tuensang district in view of the upcoming general election to the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly 2023.
According to an official report, the medical board comprised of ADC Tuensang as chairman along with the CMO of Tuensang, Keveduyi Theyo and MO of PHC Srinagesh, Weallen Chila Loyem as members.
The board has been assigned to examine and issue medical certificates to government servants who may apply for exemption from election duty on medical grounds.
It stated that any government employee seeking exemption from election duty would be jointly examined by the medical board. If the board declares the person unfit for election duties after examination, report stated that specific nature of the ailment should be mentioned.
“It should be noted that all applications for exemption from election duty on medical grounds will be considered based on the recommendation of the medical board only. A medical certificate issued by any other medical officer will not be entertained,” it added.
