Dimapur, April 9 (EMN): Assuming the scenario of an earthquake of a 8.7 Richter scale magnitude striking Chümoukedima, the district administration in collaboration with National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) conducted a mock drill on April 8.
Immediately after the alarm was sounded, the incident report team communicated with the emergency operation centre (DEOC and RO, DC Chümoukedima), after which the IRT, strike team and incident commanders were briefed on the matter, a DIPR report informed.
Rescue operation team from Fire Brigade, NDRF and DDMA were pressed into action for rescue mission, wherein operation techniques were displayed at St. Joseph Higher Secondary School and Bituo Marketing Complex as the incident sites.
Aaron Patton, commandant of 1st NAP, Sanjay Prasad Sharma, asst. commandant 12 NDRF and Temsuwanshi Jamir, asst. manager of NSDMA were the observers.
