Dimapur, April 5 (EMN): In view of the ensuing mock drill scheduled in Chümoukedima on April 8, the deputy commissioner and DDMA chairman of Chümoukedima, Abhinav Shivam, has convened a coordination meeting at his office on Tuesday.
A DIPR report stated that Rendemo Shitio, NSDMA assistant manager of response and communication and nodal officer, spoke on the role and functions of the disaster management system.
It stated that issues on the organisational structure of the response teams such as operation, logistic and planning sections were discussed. The members have also discussed community awareness, alternative communication systems and community participation in the event of disaster.
In another programme, Chümoukedima Town Council (CTC) conducted a plantation drive at the public park on Tuesday. The plantation was carried out by CTC in collaboration with Chümoukedima Town Students’ Union. An update from CTC stated that the deputy commissioner of Chümoukedima, Abhinav Shivam, planted the first sapling at the park along with his wife. Seyiekhrietuo Solo, CTC administrator, has appealed to the public to plant trees and flowers.
