Mokokchung Chamber of Commerce and Industry warns traders amid price rise
DIMAPUR — The Mokokchung Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) has warned traders in Mokokchung town not to exploit the current situation caused by the ongoing truckers’ strike.
In a press release, the business body stated that it had learned about certain traders “engaging in unethical business practices by unjustifiably raising prices of essential commodities”.
“Let it be known that such malpractices are not tolerated in Mokokchung. Therefore, business traders involved in these questionable practices are instructed to immediately cease and desist from such illegitimate actions. These are challenging times, and as responsible citizens, we should be assisting our valued customers rather than exploiting them,” read the press release.
It went on to inform all members of the business community in Mokokchung that strict action would be taken against those indulging in unethical business practices.
“Those resorting to unfair means should consider closing their businesses voluntarily before facing legal repercussions,” it warned, while asking the public to report any such instances to the MCCI office.
