Dimapur, June 27 (EMN): After Mon district reported a frontline worker testing positive for Covid-19, the deputy commissioner (DC), superintendent of police (SP) and the chief medical officer (CMO) of the district have gone into self-isolation in their homes.
DC Thavaseelan K informed Eastern Mirror that he along with the SP had come in close proximity with someone who came in contact with the positive case.
“The person with whom we were in close proximity tested negative on June 25. However, we are waiting for a second test to be conducted on the person post five days which me and the SP will also get tested,” Thavaseelan said, adding there is nothing to worry about as it a matter of precaution.
He informed they have been working from home and coordinating with the district teams 24/7.
The official reiterated that his test results and that of the SP showed negative on June 17.
It was informed that Paiwang Konyak, minister in charge of Covid-19 related activities in Mon will be helping in coordination till the officials resume work.
