DIMAPUR — The Mon District AIDs Prevention and Control Unit (DAPCU), under the aegis of Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS), on Friday organised a district-level red ribbon quiz competition as part of Youth Fest 2024-25.
An update from the office of the chief medical officer (CMO), Mon, stated that the district-level quiz competition was organised with the goal to highlight the importance of youth involvement and engagement by providing a platform for them to demonstrate their understanding of the HIV/AIDS programme.
Two members each from five schools including St John’s Higher Secondary School, Government Higher Secondary School-C, Government Higher Secondary School-A, Konjong Higher Secondary and Government Higher Secondary School-D participated in the competition.
It stated that there were four rounds, with each round testing participants’ knowledge on HIV/AIDS-related topics.
The quiz was moderated by Leeyan Chemshy, NHM media officer, along with Loshon, tuberculosis supervisor at District Hospital Mon, and MC Manchen, counselor-cum-DEOFIART at DH, Mon.
It stated that Konjong Higher Secondary School represented by Esther W Konyak and Chingkam T won the first prize, while the Government Higher Secondary School (C) represented by Longpa M Konyak and Nonlih C Konyak secured the second prize and Government Higher Secondary School (D) represented by A Pumen Konyak and Choshon N won the third prize.
It further stated that CMO of Mon, Dr. Supongmenla Walling, gave away certificate and cash prizes to the winners.
