A three-member peer team of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) conducted the 3rd cycle assessment at Kohima College
DIMAPUR — A three-member peer team of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) conducted the 3rd cycle assessment at Kohima College on June 20 and 21.
The peer team consisted of Prof. Dharmalingam B, dean and faculty of Education, Alagappa University, College of Engineering, Karaikudi, Tamil Nadu, as the chairperson along with Prof. KLN Murthy, registrar of Karnataka State Open University, Mysore, and Dr. Gilson John, principal of St. Joseph’s College, Chalakkudy, Kerala, as members.
An update from the college stated that presentations were made by the college principal, IQAC coordinator and HOD of the college on the first day. It added that the peer team also visited the facilities of the college and interacted with all the stakeholders including parents, alumni, teachers and students.
The luncheon meeting was attended by members of the advisory board and governing body of the college.
On the second day, the peer team conducted an onsite inspection of the girls and boys hostels, sports facilities, verification of files, and report writing.
The assessment came to a close with an exit meeting chaired by Sungjeminla, IQAC coordinator, wherein the welcome address was delivered by Dr. Vitsosie Vüprü, college principal.
The team chairman, Prof. Dharmalingam B, in his general observations of the college, lauded the college for producing alumni in various fields and mentioned that the alumni association is an asset for the college. He remarked that the college has an excellent team of teachers and students and appreciated the college for the extension services rendered to the less-privileged persons. He also lauded the holistic development initiated by the college and for giving equal importance to both curricular and co-curricular aspects.
Report further stated that the recommendation of the peer team was handed over to the college principal. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by IQAC coordinator.
