Nagaland Board to introduce Mathematics in higher secondary Arts stream
Dimapur, May 27 (EMN): The Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) has announced that it will be introducing Mathematics as an elective subject in the Higher Secondary Arts stream from the 2022 academic session, as recommended by the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 for a multi-disciplinary approach to education.
It said the subject will be introduced in Class 11 in 2022 and Class 12 in the 2023 academic session, and all the Higher Secondary Schools affiliated with the NBSE have been informed about the availability of the option.
The Board said that interested institutions can now introduce Mathematics as a subject of study in their respective institutions and appoint qualified teachers to teach the subject.
“Further, as emphasized in the NEP 2020, all higher secondary schools have been requested to introduce more subjects, as given in the existing syllabus at the higher secondary level so that students may be given more choice of subjects,” read the update issued by DIPR.
