For the first time, recovered cases outnumber active patients

Dimapur, June 14 (EMN): Five more returnees were tested positive for Covid-19 in Nagaland on Sunday, while 12 patients tested negative for the virus, taking the total number of those recovered to 88 so far.
The minister for Health and Family Welfare, S Pangnyu Phom, updated this on June 14.
“Twelve more patients have tested negative for Covid-19 in their second test. All the patients are from Dimapur and shifted to Covid-19 care centre for further observation and monitoring,” Phom tweeted on Sunday evening.
The minister updated earlier in the day that five out of 232 samples tested returned Covid-19 positive. Three of them were from Mon quarantine centre and two from Peren quarantine centre.
The state has recorded 168 Covid-19 cases so far with 80 active cases, 88 recoveries and no death.
It may be mentioned that Nagaland recorded its first Covid-19 positive case on May 25 after three returnees from Chennai were tested positive for the virus.
According to Home Commissioner Abhijit Sinha, 5945 swab samples have been tested so far. Results for 1097 samples are awaited.
“At the BSL-3 lab at the Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK), out of the 5945 samples, till today a total of 3005 samples have been tested, and out of which 124 samples have tested positive. A total of 6774 persons are presently under facility quarantine,” he said in his daily briefing.
The home commissioner informed that a special train carrying around 600 Nagaland citizens left Delhi at around 6.30 pm on Sunday. The train is expected to reach Dimapur on June 16, at around 5 am.
“If anyone develops any signs and symptoms of cough, fever or difficulty in breathing, he or she should contact the Nagaland Covid-19 helpline number 1800 345 0019 of the Health and Family Welfare department,” he informed.
