Nagaland gets load despatch centre to monitor power flow

Dimapur, Feb. 1 (EMN): Nagaland today got its own state load dispatch centre (SLDC). The SLDC, which would monitor and control power flow throughout the state, was inaugurated at Power Station, Kuda village (Nagarjan), on February 1.

The SLDC, which was formally inaugurated today by engineer-in-chief, Shikato Sema, would ensure the integrated grid operations and achieve the maximum economy and efficiency in the operation of power systems in the state. The SLDC would also be responsible for carrying real time operations for grid control and despatch of electricity within the state through secure and economic operation in the state grid in accordance with the grid standards and the state grid code.

Addressing the formal inauguration programme, Shikato Sema congratulated the team led by Nitovi A Wotsa, superintending engineer (E) and SLDC head, and said the SLDC would prove to be very challenging and, at the same time, interesting, an update from the department stated.

Earlier in his technical report, superintending engineer (Transmission), Tiameren Walling, explained that the SLDC would be responsible for optimum scheduling and despatch of electricity within the state in accordance with the contracts entered into with the licensees or the generating companies operating in the state.

The chief engineer (T&G), N Mozhui, also addressed the gathering.
The programme, chaired by additional chief engineer (T&G), began with invocation prayer said by Neikolie Nagi, pastor of Kuda Baptist Church, while the superintending engineer (E), Nitovi A Wotsa delivered the vote of thanks.
