DEO Kohima informs govt. school heads
Dimapur, March 31 (EMN): The Kohima district education officer (DEO), Emilo Patton, has informed that an orientation programme for all head of government schools (GPS/ GMS/ GHS/ GHSS) under Kohima and Tseminyu districts would be held on April 4 at Ura Academy Hall, Mission Compound in Kohima at 10 am. The DEO has requested all the school heads to attend the meeting and cautioned that disciplinary action would be initiated against the absentees. It further informed that registration would start at 9 am. Vehicle parking has been allotted at the premises of ABCC mission compound.
IRCSN officials call on Governor
Dimapur, March 31 (EMN): The managing committee members of Indian Red Cross Society Nagaland (IRCSN) led by its general secretary, Akhale V Khamo, paid a courtesy call on Nagaland Governor and president of Indian Red Cross Society Nagaland, La. Ganesan, at Raj Bhavan in Kohima on March 29. An update from IRCSN informed that the governor was apprised of the various activities of the organisation as well as the upcoming programmes. It added that the governor has expressed gratitude towards the society for its voluntary service rendered towards the society and assured his support to IRCSN in the coming days.
Zeliang, Paiwang convey festive greetings
Dimapur, March 31 (EMN): The deputy chief minister and in-charge of Planning and National Highway, TR Zeliang, has greeted the Chang, Konyak and Phom communities on the occasion of their festivals ‘Kundanglum,’ ‘Aoleang’ and ‘Phom Mongyu’ respectively. “As you all celebrate your respective festivals, may you be blessed with joy and happiness. May all the success follow you throughout the year and all your wishes come true,” Zeliang stated. He has further wished them best of health as they bask in the joy of festivities with their family and friends. In another statement, Health minister and convenor of Eastern Nagaland Legislators Union (ENLU), P Paiwang Konyak, greeted the Konyak and Phom communities on the occasion of ‘Aoleang’ and ‘Monyu’ festivals. He wished that the festive occasions would bring joy, prosperity and abundance to all.
DMC organises capacity building programme
Dimapur, March 31 (EMN): As part of the capacity building under SBM-U-2.0, Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) organised a one-day capacity building training on “Segregation of waste, solid waste management rules, E-waste management rules and other existing waste management rules” on March 31. The participants were members of its sanitation wing comprising sanitation workers, Sardars, sanitation inspectors and officials. The keynote address was delivered by DMC administrator, W Manpai Phom. Members from LiFE Living for Environment, an environmental NGO and E-Circle, were the resource persons.
NSCN (IM) condoles demise of tatar
Dimapur, March 31 (EMN): NSCN (IM) has condoled the demise of its tatar, Mhonbemo Jami under Lotha region. An NSCN (IM)’s statement through its MIP stated that he joined the national service in the year 1993 and gave his best serive throughout his life. While lamenting the loss, it stated that his name would be recorded in the pages of the Naga history and remembered for his sacrifice and dedication to the nation. It has further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed for peace of the departed soul.
Wokha DPDB meeting on April 6
Dimapur, March 31 (EMN): The deputy commissioner and vice chairman of Wokha district planning and development (DPDB), Ajit Kumar Ranjan, has informed that the monthly meeting of DPDB for the month of April would be held on April 6 in his office’s conference hall at 11 am. The DC has requested all the members to attend the meeting.
