Tseminyu district sets up detention centre
Dimapur, March 3 (EMN): The deputy commissioner and district magistrate of Tseminyu, Dr. Zasekuolie Chusi, has informed that the district has decided to set up a temporary jail/ detention centre in anticipation of any situation subsequent to the promulgation of curfew in parts of the district under section 144 CrPC, 1973, as well as in pursuance to section 541 of the code of criminal procedure 1882 (10 of 1882). The decision to this effect was taken following a consultative meeting with the district executive force (DEF). A DIPR report stated that two rooms in the old ADC office are designated as temporary jail/ detention centre to augment the holding capacity/ strength of the lock-up at Tseminyu police station. It further stated that the order would come into force with immediate effect and remain in force till further notice.
DC Longleng bans fireworks
Dimapur, March 4 (EMN): In view of the prevailing law and order situation and subsequent imposition of curfew within Longleng town, the deputy commissioner and district election officer has banned celebration by any candidates’ agents or workers from any party after declaration of election results through ways of gatherings, use of fireworks and crackers, blowing of horns, rally of vehicles etc. within Longleng town. It cautioned that anyone found breaching the order would be penalised under section 188 of India Penal Code 1860.
