Nagaland: NLA Speaker and others condole demise of V Vero

Dimapur, July 22 (EMN): Speaker of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly, Sharingain Longkumer, has condoled the demise of Vejoyi Vero, former minister, who passed away on July 22 in Kohima.

Longkumer stated that Vejoyi Vero was a member of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly for three consecutive terms during the 4th, 5th and 6th House. He stated that in his death, the state, especially the people of Chakhesang community, has lost a committed leader, who always worked for the betterment of the poor and the downtrodden sections of the society. He added that his contribution would always be recognised and remembered.

Longkumer has further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed to the Almighty to grant them strength to bear the loss with courage and fortitude.

In another statement, the Phek District Bar Association (PDBA) has described V Vero as a kind hearted and humble person, who had sacrificed his best service for the welfare of his people. PDBA lamented that in his demise, it has lost a prominent political leaders.

It further conveyed condolence to bereaved family members and prayed to the Almighty God to grant them strength to bear with the loss.

Meanwhile, NPCC president, K Therie, while mourning the demise of Vero, described him as a peaceful hearted man who stood upright in all circumstances adding he not only upheld but endeavoured for justice and equality whenever the need arose.

Therie stated that Vero’s contributions for the uplift of society would be long remembered.

He further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed to the Almighty God to comfort them all through the painful time.
