Dimapur, Aug. 24 (EMN): Reiterating the party’s vision for the younger generations, president of the Nagaland unit of National People’s Party (NPP), Dr. Andrew Ahoto Sema, has assured progress towards fulfilling the aspiration of the people under the leadership of its national president, Conrad K Sangma.
Dr. Ahoto stated this during a consultative meeting with the Tuensang district unit held on August 23 at the Chang Khulei Setshang (CKS) Hall in Tuensang town. He expressed confidence that the party would bring the entire Northeast region under one political umbrella in order to fulfill the party’s motto of ‘One voice, one Northeast.’
Welcoming the gathering, the Tuensang district NPP president, Khumpise Lise Sangtam, expressed happiness at the visit made by the state team led by the state president, an update from NPP stated.
Speaking on behalf of the state team, Lima Longchar, state advisor, and Philip Lam, exhorted the gathering and encouraged them to continue with the enrolment drive on a war footing. They also echoed the common problems and needs shared by the people of Eastern Nagaland including Tuensang.
Reiterating the clarion call of the national president that ‘Youth are the future of the nation,’ state NPYF secretary, Aghali Achumi, challenged the youth not to look for shortcut methods of making money during elections but to be focused on the future and reform the society for the upcoming generation.
Advisor of NPP Tuensang district, B Binyemjong, apprised the state team about the new district team comprising parent body, youth and women along with all the rank and file of the members from 51 Noksen assembly constituency.
It stated that several agendas including the party’s candidature for the upcoming assembly election from Tuensang district, party membership drive, strategies to be followed for the next assembly polls etc. were discussed during the meeting.
The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Yangthery, general secretary (Org) of NPP Tuensang district.
