Nagaland records 47 new Covid-19 cases, 4 deaths; India logs 47K infections

Dimapur, Sep. 2 (EMN): Nagaland’s Covid-19 tally has increased to 30,204 as 47 new Covid-19 positive cases were reported on Thursday.

The Health and Family Welfare Department updated that out of the 47 new positive cases detected on Thursday, 17 of them were in Dimapur, 10 in Mokokchung, nine in Kohima, six in Phek, two in Wokha, and one each in Longleng, Mon and Zunheboto.

The state’s death toll rose to 610 with four patients succumbing to the disease in the last 24 hours, while the state’s recoveries increased to 27,904 after the recovery of 66 more patients.

On Thursday, 26 patients recovered in Kohima, 20 in Mokokchung, 11 in Dimapur, five in Mon, three in Phek, and one in Peren.

Nagaland currently has 778 active Covid-19 cases, out of which 595 are asymptomatic, 135 mild, nine moderate on oxygen, 25 severe on oxygen, seven in ICU without ventilator, and seven in ICU on ventilator.

In regard to the district-wise distribution of active Covid-19 cases, Dimapur leads with 349 cases, followed by Mokokchung with 152, 144 in Kohima, 30 in Phek, 29 in Zunheboto, 27 in Mon, 19 in Wokha, 12 in Longleng, nine in Kiphire, six in Tuensang, and one in Peren.

India logs 47092 new cases

India reported 47,092 new Covid-19 infections on Thursday, taking the country’s total to 3,28,57,937, and active caseload to 3,89,583, according to data provided by the Union Health Ministry.

It said the death toll climbed to 4,39,529 with 509 more fatalities reported in the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, 35,181 patients recovered on Thursday, pushing the cumulative tally of recovered patients to 3,20,28,825.

Moreover, India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage surpassed 66.3 crore (66,30,37,334) with 81,09,244 vaccine doses administered in the last 24 hours.
