Nagaland records 80 new Covid-19 cases, 2 deaths

Dimapur, Aug. 12 (EMN): Nagaland’s Covid-19 tally has increased to 28,955 as 80 new Covid-19 positive cases were reported on Thursday.

The Health and Family Welfare Department updated that out of the 80 new positive cases detected on Thursday, Dimapur reported 29 infections, 21 in Kohima, 18 in Mokokchung, seven in Longleng, two in Peren, and one each in Kiphire, Wokha and Zunheboto.

The state’s death toll increased to 579 with two more deaths reported in the last 24 hours, while the state’s cumulative recoveries rose to 26,183 following recuperation of 82 more patients.

On Thursday, 37 patients in Kohima recovered, 20 in Mokokchung, 17 in Dimapur, three in Peren, two in Phek, and one each in Longleng, Mon and Wokha. 

Nagaland currently has 1,347 active Covid-19 cases, out of which 1086 are asymptomatic, 212 mild, 19 moderate on oxygen, 16 severe on oxygen, five in ICU without ventilator. and nine in ICU om ventilator.

In regard to the district-wise distribution of active Covid-19 cases, Dimapur has 438 patients, 337 in Kohima, 223 in Mokokchung, 87 in Peren, 68 in Tuensang, 65 in Zunheboto, 45 in Longleng, 35 in Wokha, 22 in Mon, 15 in Kiphire, and 12 in Phek.

41K new cases in India

India recorded 41,195 new coronavirus infections on Thursday, taking the tally to 3,20,77,706 (3.20 crore), while active cases increased to 3,87,987 (3.87 lakh), according to data from the Union Health Ministry.

It said that the death toll climbed to 4,29,669 (4.29 lakh) with 490 more fatalities registered in the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, 3,12,60,050 (3.12 crore) people have recovered from Covid-19, while 39,069 patients recovered in the last 24 hours.

Cumulatively, 52,36,71,019 vaccine doses have been administered so far, while 44,19,627 vaccine doses were administered in the last 24 hours.
