Nagaland reports 2 new COVID cases

Dimapur, Aug. 24 (EMN): The number of COVID-19 active cases in Nagaland declined to 16 with the recovery of six more patients in the last 24 hours, which includes three in Kohima, and one each in Dimapur and Mon.

According to the update from the department of Health and Family Welfare, two fresh infections were detected on Wednesday, one each in Kiphire and Longleng, taking the total number of cases in the state to 35,899. The state’s cumulative recoveries also increased to 33,596.

Meanwhile, the death toll from the pandemic stands at 772. Out of the 16 active cases,10 are asymptomatic and six mild.

In terms of district-wise distribution of active cases, four cases each Kohima, Dimapur, and Kiphire, three in Longleng, and one in Mokokchung, while the remaining districts are currently COVID-free.
