Nagaland set Manipur 405-run target in Ranji Trophy clash
DIMAPUR — At the close of Day 3 in the Ranji Trophy match between Nagaland and Manipur, being played at Nagaland Cricket Stadium, Sovima, Nagaland holds a commanding lead of 309 runs.
Nagaland declared their second inning at 306 for 5, setting Manipur a target of 405 runs to win. The declaration came after 92 overs of play.
Nischal Dega’s brilliant 154 off 228 balls was the highlight of Nagaland’s second inning. Hem contributed a valuable 90 off 242 balls. Captain Jonathan Rongsen chipped in with a quick 26*.
For Manipur, Bishworjit was the standout bowler, taking 3 wickets for 38 runs, while Ajay Singh and Kabir claimed a wicket each.
Facing a steep target of 405, Manipur ended Day 3 at 96 for 2 after 29 overs. They need 309 more runs to achieve a victory on the final day.
As of stumps, Jotin Pheiroijam and Bishworjit are at the crease. Play resumes on Monday at 8:30 am.
