Nagaland YRS officials fete Sepaktakraw India teams
The women’s sepaktakraw team representing India at the Asian Games includes two outstanding athletes from Nagaland, Sezovelu Dozo and Seyiekhrieno Tepa — Department of Youth Resources and Sports (YRS), Nagaland, interacted with the men’s and women’s teams of Sepaktakraw India at Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, New Delhi
DIMAPUR — Officials from the Department of Youth Resources and Sports (YRS), Nagaland, held an interaction with the men’s and women’s teams of Sepaktakraw India, at Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, New Delhi, on Monday.
The YRS officials led by their Director Kethosituo Sekhose and joint resident commissioner, Nagaland House, New Delhi, Wennyei Konyak, met the players, who are currently in camp as part of the Indian Asian Games contingent, an update stated.
During the interaction, the Nagaland officials felicitated to key figures in the sepaktakraw community, including Yogender Singh Dahiya, deputy president of the Asian Sepaktakraw Federation; chief coach Hemraj Dhira; AB Sharma, the men’s team coach; Mamta, the women’s team coach, as well as physiotherapists and the talented sepaktakraw players representing India.
Sekhose extended congratulations to the players for their selection to compete at the prestigious Asian Games and wished them the best in their endeavors.
Additionally, a letter of felicitation from Advisor, YRS, S Keoshu Yimkhiung, was presented on behalf of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and the people of Nagaland, extending warm wishes to the Indian sepaktakraw team.
“Notably, the women’s sepaktakraw team representing India at the Asian Games includes two outstanding athletes from Nagaland, Sezovelu Dozo and Seyiekhrieno Tepa. It’s worth mentioning that Dozo holds the distinction of being the youngest player in the Indian sepaktakraw contingent,” it stated.
