Nagaland’s Covid-19 tally rises to 535

Dimapur, July 2 (EMN):
Thirty-four more cases of Covid-19 were detected on Thursday, taking the tally of Nagaland to 535.

“Thirty-four new positive cases of Covid-19 have been detected out of 226 samples tested. Peren QC- 32; Kohima QC – 1 and Dimapur QC- 1,” the minister for Health and Family Welfare, S Pangnyu Phom, tweeted.

Till date, Health authorities in Nagaland have declared 197 patients as ‘recovered’ and there were 338 active cases.

According to Home Commissioner Abhijit Sinha, all the 338 active cases are asymptomatic.

“Till date, a total of 12,570 samples have been tested. Results of 11,854 samples have been received. Out of the total of 12,570 samples, 8,251 samples have been received at the BSL-3 lab at the Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK) and the BSL-2 lab at CIHSR, Dimapur, and a total of 8,133 samples have been tested, out of which 423 samples have tested positive.

“In addition a total of 6, 240 samples have been tested by TrueNat, out of which 124 samples tested positive and sent for confirmation by RT-PCR. A total of 4,551 persons are presently under facility quarantine,” he said.
