NCD requests DC, DMC to promptly execute Zhaleo Rio’s plan for Dimapur

DIMAPUR — Just days after acknowledging Advisor of Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, Zhaleo Rio for his concern and vision for the state’s commercial hub, the Naga Council Dimapur (NCD) has appealed to the deputy commissioner of the district and the administrator of Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) to promptly execute developmental projects as per the directive of the legislator.

In a statement, the NCD said that Zhaleo Rio had issued orders for removing of all temporary, illegal and unathorised structures, shops and vendors in Dimapur city, particularly below Dimapur Railway flyover and transform the spaces into vehicle parking lots for the public.

He also ordered the removal of all temporary structures constructed by vendors along the roads and Hongkong Market area in Dimapur, for construction of ‘standard footpaths’ for pedestrians, said the council.

It went on to say that construction of a “well-engineered drainage system” had been announced for the Dimapur city, to ensure clog-free drains during the rainy season.
