NEICC biennial session underway in Jalukie

DIMAPUR — The 4th biennial conference of the North East India Christian Council (NEICC), marking its 80th session, got underway at the Jalukie Town Local Baptist Church under Peren district on May 16.

Jointly hosted by the Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) and the Zeme Baptist Church Council (ZBCC), the event drew over 300 delegates and representatives from more than 55 conventions/ synods and para-church organisations across Northeast India, stated an update from NEICC. The session will witness performances by 16 choirs.

The inaugural programme was chaired by Rev. R Lalnunzira, while Rev. Dr. Ramengliana, NEICC general secretary, delivered the welcome address. The welcome notes were delivered by Rev. Dr. Rampaukupoing and Rev. Dr. Mongzeung Mpom and Rev. DS. Roy Muktieh, secretary of NEICCYA, led in Bible reading.

It stated that the choirs of Jalukie ‘B’ Baptist Church and Jalukie Pastorate (CHT) performed during the opening programme.

In his inaugural message, Rev. SR. Dkhar, NEICC vice president, stressed on the theme “Stronger together,” inspired by Ecclesiastes 4:9. He highlighted the contemporary relevance of King Solomon’s wisdom to daily life.

The inaugural session concluded with performances by the choirs of Peren Town Baptist Church and Jalukie Town Local Baptist Church.

It mentioned that the session of NEICC continues to foster unity and collaboration among Christian organisations in the region, reinforcing the council’s commitment to collective strength and community.

Report stated that the conference will culminate on May 19.
