Patton greets Yimkhungs on Wangtsunuo

DIMAPUR — Dy. CM Y Patton has extended greetings to the Yimkhung community on the occasion of Wangtsunuo. In an update, he expressed his wish that during this spring festival, blessings shower upon the crops and the people alike. DoSE notifies on applications for new schools

DIMAPUR — The Directorate of School Education (DoSE), Kohima, has notified all individuals, societies, trusts and organisations that the application form for opening new private schools under the Directorate of School Education will be available at the directorate from April 1 to May 31. The forms may be collected from Room No. 421 (Planning section) during office hours, an official notification stated.

Casting of postal ballot commences in Kohima

DIMAPUR — As notified by the Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer, Kohima, Kumar Ramnikant, on April 13, the casting of the postal ballot by the absentee voters on essential services (AVES) category for the 18th Lok Sabha election commenced on Monday at the postal voting centre (PVC) set up at DB’s Court, DC office complex in Kohima. The exercise will continue until April 17 from 10 am to 4 pm, a DIPR report stated.

Medical camp held at Thonoknyu

DIMAPUR — A two-day free medical camp took place at Thonoknyu, Noklak, on April 12 and 13. According to an update, Dr. Khunyu and his team from the District Hospital Noklak offered free eye check-ups, while the Thonoknyu PHC team conducted NCD screening and provided essential healthcare services along with free medicine. In total, 153 individuals received treatment during the medical camp.

DC Mon nominates micro-observer

DIMAPUR — In view of the upcoming 18th Lok Sabha elections, Ajit Kumar Verma, DC and DEO Mon, has nominated Francis N Konyak, sr. associate at SBI Main Branch, Mon, as a micro-observer for nine assembly segments within Mon district. Francis’s responsibilities include conducting the 3rd randomisation of polling personnel, the opening of a strong room, and the closing of the strong room following the conduct of the poll.

Expenditure observer visits Tuensang

DIMAPUR — Expenditure observer Satya Brata visited Tuensang district on April 13 and held a brief meeting at the DC conference hall with nodal officers from various election monitoring units, including the election expenditure monitoring cell, complaint monitoring control cell, video surveillance team, video viewing team, and flying squads. An update stated that during the meeting, Brata emphasised the importance of vigilance and sincerity in carrying out their duties to ensure a free and fair election in the state..
