NFHRCC urges Nagaland government to expedite process of Foothills Road funding
DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Foothill Road Co-ordination Committee (NFHRCC) has urged the state government to expedite the assembly resolution adopted on September 22, 2022, to construct the foothill road through North Eastern Council (NEC) funding.
The Nagaland Legislative Assembly had, in one of its sessions last year, unanimously resolved to pursue the construction of the foothill road under NEC, citing the economic benefit it will give to the people of the state.
During its meeting held on Saturday, April 29, the NFHRCC resolved to appeal to the department of PWD ( R&B) to provide the ongoing division-wise technical progress and performance-based bill released status as well as make the details available on public domain at the earliest.
It reiterated its earlier pledge and resolutions passed by the Naga CSOs “not to pay any land compensations and also not to give any taxes to any groups or individuals as the mission is for the common welfare of the people of Nagaland”.

The committee further resolved to give a written reply to all groups or individuals who had sought “certain clarifications” from it and to convene a meeting with the department of PWD (R&B), office bearers of the Dimapur-based tribal hohos and contractors, at 10 am on May 13 at its office in Khermahal, Dimapur, to deliberate on the progress of the motorable road (foothill road).
