DIMAPUR — The National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), Kohima, recently hosted an entrepreneurship and skill development programme at its extension centre in Dimapur.

An update from NIELIT stated that the programme witnessed an engaging exchange of ideas, insights and strategies aimed at empowering budding entrepreneurs in Nagaland. It also explored into multifaceted aspects crucial for entrepreneurial success, ranging from digital transformation in traditional sectors like handloom and handicraft to cutting-edge topics such as intellectual property rights (IPR) protection.

It stated that the participants were exposed to innovative approaches in design and production, emphasising the importance of skills development and fostering a culture of innovation.

One of the highlights of the programme was the session on brand building and marketing strategies leveraging generative AI, showcasing the intersection of technology and entrepreneurship in today’s dynamic market landscape.

Nengneithem Hengna, founder of Runway India and a seasoned entrepreneur, captivated participants with her presentation titled “Entrepreneurship in Nagaland: opportunities and challenges.” It stated that she shed light on the unique opportunities available in Nagaland’s entrepreneurial landscape while addressing the various challenges that aspiring entrepreneurs might encounter.

Reflecting on the success of the programme, Daniel Meren, Scientist ‘E,’ expressed, “We are thrilled with the overwhelming response and active participation we witnessed throughout the programme. It’s truly inspiring to see the enthusiasm and dedication of the participants towards building a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem in Nagaland.”

A total of 173 participants attended the programme.

It mentioned that the entrepreneurship and skill development programme at NIELIT Dimapur exemplified the institute’s commitment to fostering innovation, entrepreneurship and skill development in the region. It added that by equipping aspiring entrepreneurs with the necessary knowledge, tools and resources, NIELIT aims to catalyse economic growth and create sustainable opportunities for the youth of Nagaland.
