NNC/FGN Konyak Region validates impeachment proceedings

DIMAPUR — The NNC/FGN Konyak Region, on November 9, adopted resolutions following a meeting at the Mon headquarters to address the ongoing political issues within the FGN.

According to an update, the adopted resolution included the recognition of impeachment proceedings. The impeachment of Brig. (Retd.) S. Singya on October 21, 2024, during the Emergency Tatar Hoho, was validated as being conducted in accordance with the Yehzabo of Nagaland.

It also confirmed that the elections held on October 22 during the Tatar Hoho, resulting in the election of Zhhopra Vero as Kedahge and Hekhuvi Achumi as Kedallo of the NNC/FGN, were affirmed to have fully adhered to the provisions outlined in the Yehzabo.

Further, the house deemed the impeachment of Vero on October 22, 2024, at Sanglo, Noklak, during a cabinet sitting, unconstitutional. The action was regarded as a breach of the Yehzabo, characterised by an autocratic approach and governance that disregarded legal frameworks.
