DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) held a commemoration ceremony marking the 139th foundation day of the Indian National Congress at Congress Bhavan, Kohima, on Thursday.
According to a press release, speaking on the occasion, Khriedi Theünuo, working president of the NPCC, reflected on the legacy of the Indian National Congress in the service of the nation and the sacrifices of its members “throughout its 139-year history that helped build and shape the nation and the state.”
The release further mentioned that he also reminded the gathering of the continuity of the nation-building process as well as the stewardship role expected of them as Congress ideologues in upholding the party’s secular, democratic, and inclusive ethos, on which the idea of India was founded.
It added that similar commerative events celebrating the occasion were organised by the district Congress committees, ACCCs, and other units and subunits of the party throughout the state.
