DIMAPUR — As students across the state prepare for their examinations, the Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has urged the state government to immediately enhance electricity supply and to ensure that all students have access to uninterrupted power supply during the exam period.

The federation, in a press release, said that electricity plays a vital role in the life of students, especially during exam period, as it powers their study tools such as laptop, tablet and others, enabling them to study effectively.

On the other hand, lack of electricity not only disturbs their study routine but also affects their mental wellbeing and overall performance, it said.

“It is imperative to have access to reliable electricity; unfortunately the state experiences frequent power outages and load shedding, which can have a significant impact on students’ ability to study and perform well in their exams,” the NSF pointed out.

“Students are already under immense pressure to perform well in exam and the added stress of unreliable electricity only exacerbates their anxiety; this situation is unfair to students who are working hard to secure a better future,” it added.

Further, asserting that investing in enhancing electricity supply for students during the exam periods is “an investment in the future of our state,” the NSF said a positive response would convey a message that the government values education and is committed to providing a conducive environment for learning.
