NWA to conduct selection trial for national c’ship
DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Wushu Association (NWA) will be organising a state-level selection trial on August 30 at The Combat Academy, Sovima village, Chümoukedima district, for the upcoming 33rd National Wushu Championship 2024.
In a press release, the Nagaland Wushu Association stated that the 33rd National Wushu Championship 2024 will be held from September 21 to the 26th at Maharana Pratap Stadium, Raipur, Dehradun.
During the selection trial, the best player for each category will be selected to represent the state in the national championship, the NWA informed in a press release.
The trials will be conducted for different weight categories, and athletes should be between 18 and 40 years old, i.e., born between 1984 and 2006.
The weight categories for the senior men’s category are 48kg, 52kg, 56kg, 60kg, 65kg, 70kg, 75kg, 80kg, 85kg, 90kg, and 90+kg. For the senior women’s category, the weight categories are 45kg, 48kg, 52kg, 56kg, 60kg, 65kg, 70kg, and 75kg.
The NWA requested all the district associations to ensure maximum number of participants. They are also requested to confirm the number of athletes attending the selection trial by August 28 for logistical arrangements.
