Kohima, April 26 (EMN): Former executive secretary of the Angami Christian Revival Church Council (ACRCC), Rev. Dr. Putsato Naleo, officially launched the year-long silver jubilee celebration of Oriental College in Kohima at the college premises on April 25.
Speaking on the occasion, Rev. Dr. Naleo, has described education as the most important aspect of life as power and civilisation come through proper knowledge and added that through education one would be able to differentiate between the right and wrong.
He also encouraged the young students to be careful and be committed to attain quality education by keeping God ahead. He also declared the degree sports meet of the college open.
Delivering the welcome address, the college principal, Dr. Ketshukietuo Dzüvichü, informed that it started in June 2017 by the Christian Revival Church of Kohima village on a mission mode. He also stated that the college offers higher secondary and degree courses in Arts and Commerce streams and has about 500 students.
The convenor of the jubilee organising committee, Mhalezolie Kire, spoke about the various activities to be taken up during the year-long celebration, which would culminate with a grand celebration scheduled in November next.
Chaired by Akhrieno Yhor, the programme began with prayer by pastor of CRC Kohima village, Lhouvizhü Sachü, while the vote of thanks was tendered by OCK vice principal, Dr. Goapl Basnet.
