KOHIMA — The Sedekevi Peli (No. 17) organised a penalty shootout event with Mhasimhalie Mathew Yhome, president of the Kohima District Football Association (KDFA), as the special guest on Saturday at D Khel Ground in Kohima.
The event was organised in aid of its silver jubilee celebrations.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Yhome urged the participants to uphold the spirit of sportsmanship and prioritise discipline above all else.
He maintained that, in the current situation, not everyone will be able to obtain a government job; however, job opportunities are being created through sports. In this regard, he urged the youth to focus on sports with sincerity and dedication.
Yhome also encouraged the youth to be specific and pursue their talents, with the ultimate goal of reaching national and international levels.
The programme was chaired by Rüguongulie Sachü, and Kezhakietuo Belho, associate pastor of Khedi Baptist Church, invoked God’s blessing. Kevilhouvonuo Khezhie enthralled the gathering with a special song, and the vote of thanks was proposed by Kelhousekuo Khezhie.
