DIMAPUR — The Phek district planning and development board (BPDB) has approved the local area development programmes (LADP) for the year 2023-2024 and decided to forward the proposal to the state planning board for approval.
The approval was made during its monthly meeting held at DPDB hall in Phek town on August 10 under the chairmanship of the deputy commissioner of Phek,Kumar Ramnikant.
A DIPR report stated that the meeting began with a welcome addressed delivered by the deputy commissioner and DPDB vice chairman, which was followed by a review of the last meeting minutes.
It stated that the advisor of CAWD and Taxes, Kudecho Khamo, has proposed on rechristening of PDSA to Phek District Olympic Association (PDOA). It stated that the house has agreed in principle to integrate the proposed modalities into the PDOA structure.
The recommended office bearers of the PDOA would include DPDB chairman as president, deputy commissioner as vice president, DSO as member secretary, along with organising secretary, executive members and all MLAs with 4 persons selected/nominated from the general body.
It decided that PDOA would function in coordination with the department of Youth Resources and Sports and the Nagaland Olympic Association (NOA).
The house also discussed on preparations for the upcoming 50th anniversary celebration of Phek district.
The advisor of CAWD and Taxes called upon various office heads and committees to actively contribute and promptly provide reasonable budgets.
The meeting also featured presentations by managers from telecom service providers including Jio, Airtel and BSNL in the district, showcasing their service activities.
In his address, the president of the Chakhesang Public Organisation (CPO), Vezuhu Keyho, appealed to the officers stationed in the district to collaborate and strive for optimal outcomes.
