Public rally ‘Save Manipur’ today in Imphal
IMPHAL — The Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) has expressed dissatisfaction over the government’s failure to address the plight of the people and is set to conduct a “Manipur Kanba (Save Manipur)” rally in Imphal on June 28.
The rally is scheduled to commence at around 9 am, starting from Thau Ground at Thangmeiband and proceeding to the Khuman Lampak Sports Complex.
To support the rally, the student front of the Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity, consisting of five prominent student organisations, has issued a call to all students and educators from various educational institutions to join a rally.
On June 26, COCOMI had announced plans to stage the rally and urged the indigenous population to show a unified front.
They had appealed to all communities, including members of all political parties, MLAs, ministers, bureaucrats, civil society organisations, clubs, organisations, Meira Paibis (women’s bodies), mothers, and student bodies, to participate.
