Mokokchung, July 30 (EMN): Keeping with its slogan “Climb the heights of wisdom,” Queen Mary Higher Secondary School in Mokokchung launched its two-day annual literary day on July 29 in the school auditorium under the banner “Cornucopia.”
During a brief exhortation, Rev. Sr. Alice, the school’s vice president, while recalling her days as a student, said she still remembered going up to the auditorium to attend such events. She expressed hope that the students in attendance would also make it a day to remember.
Students from classes 1 to 7 participated in the solo, fancy dress, Bible recitation, prepared speech, folk dance, poem recitation, and dance events on the first day of the competition under the categories A, B, and C, which were represented by the Red, Blue, Green, and Yellow houses.
The second day of the event commenced with Category D and E comprising students from classes 8 to 12 competing in solo, folk song, extempore speech, fancy dress, quartet, general quiz and debate on the topic ‘Do you need a college degree to get a good job.’
