Quarantine centre management team acknowledges support

Dimapur, June 2 (EMN): The management team of Livingstone Foundation International Quarantine Centre (LFIQC), jointly managed by the Western Sümi Hoho (WSH) and Western Sümi Baptist Akukuhou Küqhakulu (WSBAK), has acknowledged the government, churches, associations, and individuals for their love and support in helping the team successfully manage the centre for more than 31 days.
The LFIQC had two groups of returnees from five different states namely Haryana, Hyderabad, Odisha, Bihar, and Delhi. The first group of returnees arrived on May 25 and the second group on May 26. Altogether, 155 returnees were quarantined at LFIQC. The returnees comprised of 16 communities from three different districts comprising 74 from Peren, 67 from Dimapur and 14 from Mon.
Speaking to Eastern Mirror, convenor of LFIQC Suhuto Chishi said that all the returnees were swab-tested by the medical department, out of which 17 returnees tested positive for Covid-19. Chishi informed that the positive cases were immediately sent to Dimapur Covid hospital for proper care and treatment.
Chishi also stated that the remaining returnees were sent to their respective districts on different days after completing all the necessary procedures. He added that the last group of returnees consisting 62 people were discharged from the facility on June 24.
Acknowledging the patience and courage shown by the returnees, he said that almost all of the returnees went/ returned happily from LFIQC. The convenor maintained that the LFIQC management team tried their best in taking care of the returnees to make them feel comfortable.
He added that facilities such as high-speed internet Wi-Fi, electric water boiler, individual phone charging station, first-aid, and filtered drinking water were provided to boost the mental and spiritual health of the returnees. Apart from that, he informed that daily evening worship service was also conducted and online counselling arranged for the returnees.
With regards to the catering services, he said LFIQC did its best in providing food with proper diet requirements to the returnees without taking the aid from the government. He attributed the success to the immense support received from the churches, societies and individuals, and the state government.
Chishi thanked the chairman of LFI, Dr. Andrew Ahoto, and managing staff for providing the school for use as quarantine centre. He also expressed gratitude to the medical team from Nikos Hospital and Faith Hospital Dimapur for rendering their services in screening and checking the health status of each returnees daily.
Chishi particularly thanked the Thahekhu Village Baptist Church and Thahekhu Village Council for their priceless support and contribution towards the smooth functioning and success of the quarantine centre. He further thanked the management team, volunteers, finance committee, food committee, media committee, ministry and counselling, transportation, accommodation, reception and sanitisation committees.
