DIMAPUR — Rotary Club of Dimapur (RCD) organised a marathon race on October 2 with the mission ‘Run for good health’ and ‘End polio now,’ which was flagged off by the advisor of Tribal Affairs and Election, Tovihoto Ayemi.
Speaking at the flag-off ceremony, Tovihoto emphasised the essential of sports and fitness for the holistic well-being of individuals and communities. He lauded the Rotary Club of Dimapur for spearheading in such activities for the benefit of Dimapur citizens.
An update from the club stated that its president, Subir Saha, delivered the welcome address, while the programme was chaired by Prasant Agarwal.
The club has thanked Ashok Agarwal, Chandu Agarwal and Arijit Sharma for sponsoring the event. It also acknowledged the volunteers from Dimapur Bongs and Marwari Yuva Manch for their tireless efforts in making the event a grand success.
Among 450 participants, Chungameren Ao, Taliyanger Ozukum and Keweko Kapfo bagged the 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively in the boys’ category, while Tsuchoi, Songmo and Peiheiteile Esalung secured the top three positions in the girls’ category.
