Dimapur, April 5 (EMN): A total of 123 rural youth have availed a tablet, cap, uniforms and learning materials under the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) during a programme held at DDU-GKY training centre in Duncan Bosti in Dimapur on April 4.
The beneficiaries were provided with the facilities on completion of training conducted by ASSOCHAM, the Nagaland project implementing agency.
An update from DDU-GKY stated that the DRDA project director of Dimapur, Kethosituo Sekhose, graced the occasion as the guest speaker and motivated the trainees with his rich wisdom that he had accumulated all throughout his career.
He stated that the scope for promotion and growth is much higher in the private sector than the government sector.
Stating that promotion in the private sector is based on the level of performance and its rapid growth, while in government sectors promotions are after vacancy or retirement, he reminded the trainees to strive not only for government jobs but in private sectors. He also encouraged the trainees to keep striving for success stating that the job satisfaction is much higher in the private sector.
“No matter how small a job, with diligence and hard work everyone can climb the ladder of success,” Sekhose said.
The centre manager, Watila Ben, has highlighted the activities in the training centre and how it aims to reduce unemployment in the State through skilling and placements.
The special guest was accompanied by M Yimok Phom, ADPM of NSRLM Dimapur, and Agnes, FI of NSRLM Dimapur.
It mentioned that ASSOCHAM is a project implementing agency of DDU- GKY sponsored by the Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD), government of India and government of Nagaland, which is being implemented through Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission (NSRLM).
ASSOCHAM provides training to rural youths in three trades namely general duty assistant (GDA), front office executive (FOE) and home delivery boy/ girl (HDB).
It added that free admission, food, lodging and placement with certificates from Sector Skill Council India and the PIA would be given to all the successfully trained candidates. The next admission for the second batch would commence from the month of June 2022.
