Seven more Covid-19 patients recover in Nagaland

Dimapur, June 11 (EMN): Seven more Covid-19 patients recovered on Thursday as their second tests returned negative, taking the total number of recovered cases in Nagaland to 29.

The minister of Health and Family Welfare, S Pangnyu Phom, gave the update about the recovery of the patients on Thursday evening.

The government authorities had earlier informed that eight patients recovered on June 6, two on June 9 and 12 on June 10.

With more patients having recovered on June 11, the total number active cases now stands at 101 and no death so far.

The Health minister had informed earlier in the day (June 11) that two more returnees were tested positive for Covid-19 at the bio-safety level 3 (BSL-3) virology laboratory in Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (now Covid-19 hospital) on Thursday, taking the total number of the positive cases in Nagaland to 130.

“2 new cases of Covid-19 positive have been reported out of the 293 samples tested. Both cases are from Kohima Quarantine Centres,” he had tweeted.

Nagaland recorded its first Covid-19 cases on May 25 after three returnees from Chennai were tested positive for the virus. The number of positive cases breached 100-mark on June 6 as 13 returnees from Chennai were tested positive for the virus, taking the state’s tally to 107.
