Shops allowed to open from 6 am to 12 noon in Mokokchung

Mokokchung, May 15 (EMN): Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung, Limawabang Jamir on Saturday informed that all shops under Mokokchung district would be allowed to open from 6 am to 12 noon with strict adherence to Covid-19 SOP.
Replying to queries raised by journalists during an inspection of the lockdown, Jamir said the decision was taken at the last task force meeting.
‘In Mokokchung, wards do have big shops like in Kohima and Dimapur, therefore in order to restrain people from panic buying like previous lockdown, the decision to open all shops was resolved during the last task force meeting,’ he said.
He added that the dobashi and police personnel were being deployed round the clock to ensure the total lockdown is observed.
The DC was accompanied by Superintendent of Police Mokokchung Vishal and other officials during the inspection.
Meanwhile, shutters of shops were down during the lockdown period and police personnel were deployed at various locations for successful implementation of lockdown measures in the district.
