Dimapur, Aug. 2 (EMN): Following the order of the Gauhati High Court, Kohima Bench, to modify the SOP for teaching and non-teaching staff ahead of the opening of schools and colleges for classes 11 and 12, the Home department has issued a fresh directive.

An update issued by the chief secretary J Alam stated that all the teachers and non-teaching staff should be fully vaccinated against Covid-19, or should have completed 15 days after taking the first dose or should have been tested negative for Covid-19 through either RT-PCR or TrueNat or CBNAAT once in every 15 days.

The schools planning to re-open shall submit the list of all the teaching and non-teaching staff along with the details of the vaccination status or testing status as well as all the arrangements being made for ensuring adherence to the provisions of this SOP to the respective DTF through the DEO concerned who will grant permission for re-opening after verification.

It added that schools should submit list of such staff to the DTF every 15 days and also continue present system of online teaching while awaiting permission to resume regular classes.

“The maximum allowed percentage of attendance of students in any class on a particular day shall be 50%,” it stated.

It may be mentioned that the court had earlier asked the state government to give staff, who had chosen not to be vaccinated, an option for compulsory testing every 15 days so that they could attend schools when classes resume.
