St. Joseph University observes International Charity Day
DIMAPUR — The Department of History St. Joseph University (SJU), Chümoukedima, observed ‘International Charity Day’ on September 5 at the university’s seminar hall.
Kevino Krose, assistant professor, Department of History, in her remarks, stated that the objective of the event is to let the students learn and appreciate to be charitable in life.
Shinatoli V Shohe, assistant professor, department of History, spoke about International Charity Day and its importance.
Charity is not just about providing materialistic support but being physically and voluntarily willing to help and contribute towards society, she said.
She also dwelled on ‘dignity of labour’ and appreciated the supporting staff for their untiring work in maintaining a clean and hygienic environment on the campus.
Shohe further advised the students to maintain cleanliness and to treat the supporting staff with dignity and respect. The event was attended by 26 supporting staff and 55 students, it stated.
