State reports 5 new COVID cases, 1 death

Dimapur, July 17 (EMN): The number of COVID-19 active cases in Nagaland increased to 59 with five fresh infections detected on Sunday, while the death toll from the pandemic increased to 759 with one fresh fatality.

According to the update from the department of Health and Family Welfare, five cases were reported in Kohima in the past 24 hours, taking the total number of cases in the state to 35,603.

Meanwhie, five recoveries in Dimapur were registered in the past 24 hours, taking the total number of recoveries to 33,283.

Out of the 59 active cases, 24 are asymptomatic, 30 mild, two moderate on oxygen, two in ICU without ventilator and one in ICU on ventilator.

In terms of district-wise distribution of active cases, Kohima has 31 cases, 19 in Dimapur, six in Peren and one each in Longleng, Zunheboto and Mokokchung, while the remaining districts are currently COVID-free.
